Hello flower friend

The days become shorter and cooler, and the date indicates the change of season.

Little by little, the numerous, colorful autumn and winter bloomers such as chrysanthemums, violets, salvias, myosotis, heucheras and skimmias grow up around the flower pots at the entrance to the house,
or to beautify on the balcony!

There is also a wide selection of flower bulbs that can be planted now, overwintered in the beds and containers and will provide a surprise in spring! To ensure that all of these plants root well in the still mild temperatures, it is worth converting them to autumn-winter planting by the end of October!

We overwinter your plants

When summer slowly comes to an end, you should also think about winterizing the exotic plants.

We are happy to accept reservations from now on, and we will start transporting plants in October.

There are no price changes for the coming wintering season!

The prices in our houses are calculated based on the price per square meter:
in the cold house, min. + 5°C
for citrus fruits, olives, oleander, etc. Fr. 238.00

in the warm house, at least + 10°C
for Hibiscus, Dipladenia, Bougainvillea, etc. Fr. 245.00

In return, as in previous years, the expert and individual care of your plants with fertilizer, plant protection and the use of beneficial insects to regulate pests is taken into account. The decisive factor for the price is the space that the plants take up, not necessarily just the pot diameter. Transport and extraordinary care measures, such as repotting, will, as usual, be invoiced based on effort.

Since 2012, Karrer Gärtnerei AG has had the “CO2 & kWh reduced” certificate issued every year by the Energy Agency for Economic Affairs. Among other things, because we have taken measures such as equipping the entire wintering area with energy-saving screens.

Because only reusing is not enough

Since the nursery started cultivating the plants in pots and multi-pot plates, we have been relying on reuse. The multi-pot plates therefore do not leave the factory and are cleaned annually using a special washing device and in a disinfection bath. The disinfectant is suitable for organic farms and eliminates pests, fungi, bacteria and viruses.

We all take back the pots of the plants that are bought from us and, whenever possible, they are reused for the next crop.

The new pots consist of 100% already recycled plastic and can also be recycled with the PE seal, like other plastic packaging. Of course, we will also take them back and reuse them.

We look forward to the new pots!
